:|: 27may01 : cramped airplane

I was at Damon's place sitting on the couch. B wasn't there. He and Dana were putting on their coats to leave in order to pick up Beth from the airport. I said bye. When they stepped out the door I went to the kitchen and there was a box of Frosted Mini Wheats lying on its side, but they weren't as crunchy as they were supposed to be. I ate one then went back to the couch. They came back in the condo and Damon said that the parking lot was blocked because they were cleaning. Then Dana said that she was hungry. I told Damon that I would go get Beth because someone needed to.

I walked down the length of their parking lot and there was a huge traffic jam at the entrance - I walked through it and then the cars started moving again. I remember a truck being in the front of the line on the road, and thinking that the guy had just stopped for no reason.

I showed up at the airport only to find the gate was super crowded. There was no place to sit and hardly a place to stand. A lot of people. The sign above the desk already said "To Seattle" since I was so late. I spotted an empty seat but by the time I made it over there it was gone. The plane unloaded, but Beth wasn't on it. I kept waiting and waiting but she didn't debark. I saw mom and went to stand near her. Some people moved so we sat down.

The pilot came out and went up onto a tall platform. He grabbed a microphone and said something, but he couldn't be understood so someone yelled 'louder'. He spoke up and asked, "Who forgot to..." then he mumbled something, sounding angry but controlled. The stewardesses and all the workers just looked at each other in terror and one said 'it was on the front counter list to do'. The pilot almost yelled "but it wasn't done!" I turned to mom and told her that without that thing being done would mean that he had to land the plane without any lights or guidance. I looked outside and it was the middle of a winter night and was snowing. I thought of how bumpy of a landing it must have been.

Then I noticed that mom and I had taken a seat on the airplane, and it was time for the plane to go back to Seattle... so it took off. With us on it. The front of the plane was all windows, so we could see where it was going. The plane didn't get the right elevation and went through the tops of a lot of trees before turning around to land again.

The seat I was in was pushed too close to the seat in front of me. After the landing I stood up to pull the lever at the floor that would move the seat back. It moved a good six inches or so, but I still couldn't fit into it. I moved up a seat and across from me were three guys of Indian/middle east nationality and they all wore large hoop earrings. The Indian man turned to me, fingered his right earring, and said, "They are so sexy".

:|: 22may01 : date

Aunt Cris was at my house and she owned a bar just down the way from my place. She came to ask me a big favor - she was expecting a shipment of alcohol in, but had to go someplace else - it was urgent - and wondered if it was alright to tell the shipper to send it to my place. I said it'd be fine, but I wouldn't stick around forever: I had a date that night. She gave me the money to pay for the shipment, kissed my cheek, said something about happy hour (?), and left in a hurry. A friend (not recognized) and I waited around for the shipment. The guy with all the alcohol showed up and asked if he was in the right place - I told him that he was - and he unloaded, commenting on it being an 'awful lot of booze' for just me and a friend and that we 'must be having a party'. I explained that the next shipment wouldn't be coming here, but to my aunt's place, and I was just doing her a favor. He asked 'what about the money' and I said 'oh shell pay you, don't worry' and he said 'I need money for this shipment'. I said 'oh yeh!' and wrote him a check for $300.

I then went walking and caught a bus to my date. The bus was a tour bus with tons of room in them and they're super high. Anyway, I rode to the place where I was meeting my date. He was nice but had many nervous habits - and I didn't finish all my dinner (that's all I remember about that date). Then I had to get going or I'd miss my other date. I was walking down the road to my second dates place, coming up on the mailbox, and I saw someone riding a bicycle my way. I had the intuition that it was my date, but pretended not to see him. He rode right up to me and stopped to say 'hi - I've been waiting'.

We were walking down a hallway with a few (4?) steps at the end and he was opening a door (at the bottom of the steps) and was talking about this great club his cousin can get us into. I (at the top of the steps) asked if I needed id to get in. He said yes, and I told him that I was under 21. He wasn't bugged by that, said 'ok' and we went in. This turned out to be the restaurant, but before being seeing the maitre-d, we had to pick out wallpaper samples. Through a screen, he then requested a 4-person table. The maitre-d asked 'how many are you expecting? 4?' and he said 'no, 2'. He turned to me and said that he liked the extra space. He went to pay for his half, and then I realized that I hadn't brought my purse. I asked if he would pay for it and id pay him back my part and he agreed... but I noticed he only paid with two five dollar bills. We were finally let in, but there was no waiter to seat us. So we sat down on the bench with a few other people to wait - we figured they must be busy or short of help because all the tables we saw were empty. The bench was shaped like a horseshoe with neither back against a wall... it was orangish-red and worn velvet. Another guy sitting there commented on how uncomfortable it was, but my date said 'all the better for cuddling' and pulled me towards him - I gladly scooted closer and let him put his arm around my stomach. [I'm not married in the dream]

We sat like that for a while talking and then he kissed me - it didn't seem like a big deal. I remember him being really handsome, and enjoying the attention. I recall thinking to myself in the dream that I was amazed he wasn't turned off by my fatty stomach. Then I was looking at us sitting there, and thought that we really looked like a couple in love. Back in my body, all of a sudden we were outside and in anchor point. We were still on the velvet bench, but to our immediate left was a small cliff (going up about 10 feet, maybe) and on top of that were a guardrail and a gravel road. There was a jeep going too fast down that road coming towards us spraying gravel everywhere. I felt like they were out of control. They came around the corner closest to us and didn't quite make it - they slid off of the little cliff and plopped down right in front of me and my date. There were two young teen girls in the jeep, both scared looking. The jeep didn't look totaled, but we could tell that the driver's side (the one closest to the cliff) had been totally damaged. I ran over to see if I could help, and gas was leaking out into a ditch below. More qualified people showed up, so I went back to my date now standing along side the excitement.

I was then watching from a short distance as he pulled me close to him, brushing my breast with his thumb. He said 'whoops' but obviously not sorry, then said 'someone liked it' and brought my attention to my erect nipple. I pulled away, now very uncomfortable with the situation but not being assertive at all. I was trying to get home, but I didn't know the way. I guess I was driving (though I saw no car - the view was kind of that of a camera in place of the hood ornament)... there were four lane highways I had never seen before - reminded me of LA with all the confusion. I was going whatever way I could, not knowing where to go or where I was. I then did the same stretch of road again, but this time realized that the way I went last time was going against traffic, so I got on the right side. I then realized that I was going in the wrong direction from home. I turned around and headed the other way.

I was walking through the restaurant from date 2 with a bowl of small colorful flowers that I was eating... the place was deserted but for one waitress who kept looking at me quizzically. Then I was running out of a different building, and saw the bus I had ridden to date 1 was leaving without me - and I still had my ticket in my pocket. I ran and caught the driver's attention. He backed into a parking spot to wait for me. A cop told him that he had to park on a line, not in the space, and then I got on the bus. It was now the inside of a school bus and the place was crowded, but the driver made three people move so that I could have a seat to myself just one seat behind the driver. Directly across from me was my date #1. He looked surprised to see me. The guy sitting in front of me was a friend from class... my physics lab partner James, in fact. I told him that I had some leftovers if he wanted them. He said 'sure' and my date #1 got upset because he thought it was the food from our dinner and he thought it should go to him (all this without speaking a word). James opened up the bag and pulled out a thick meat sandwich - I looked at date#1 with an I-told-you-so look as he realized that it wasn't the food from his date at all, but he didn't figure out that it was from another date.
